Y’all, geocaching is fun
I've been looking for more ways to get outside in the winter given that we don't go camping as often. Someone reminded me of geocaching, and after looking it up, it seemed like an awesome community. I went out and did my first find today! It's super satisfying. I suggest you give it a shot.
There's an app that helps you find all the caches nearby, it's pretty easy to get started with. People leave knicknacks in the cache containers, and the logbooks are neat to look over and see how many people have found the cache. If anything, it's a way to make hikes feel less like "more difficult walks".
